Commercial enquiry?
We do plenty of commercial air conditioning — offices, hospitality, retail and healthcare — but those need a tailored design rather than an instant estimate. Leave your details and an engineer will call to scope it properly.
Which rooms do you want to cool?
Add up to 5 rooms — one indoor unit each. Just pop in each room’s rough length and width and we’ll work out the floor area; estimates are fine. Choose wall-mounted or a floor console for each room.
Want to cool more than 5 rooms? That’s beyond what we can price instantly, but it’s well within what we install. Finish this estimate for your first 5 rooms, then mention the rest when we call — or give us a call.

Your system
Every system below heats as well as cools. These are reverse-cycle heat pumps — cool rooms in summer, efficient low-cost heating in winter, delivering around 3–4 kW of heat for every 1 kW of electricity.
These estimates are based on Panasonic equipment. We also install Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Daikin and other leading manufacturers — we’re happy to talk through the alternatives, and which best suits your home, on the call and at your site survey.
Prices include 0% domestic VAT and are confirmed at your free site survey.
We’ll save your full estimate and an engineer will call to talk it through — no obligation, no call-out fee.

What happens next
From estimate to installed.
The estimate is the easy first step. Here’s how a job goes from there — your indicative price only changes if the survey turns something up, and we’ll always tell you why.
-
Step 1
Build your estimate
Right here — a few questions about your rooms give you an indicative Panasonic price.
-
Step 2
Save it & request a callback
Send your estimate through with your details. We save the full spec and pricing, then an engineer calls to talk it over.
-
Step 3
Free site survey
Where needed, we measure up, check placement and your electrical supply, and confirm the design.
-
Step 4
Firm quote
Once we’ve checked the details, you get your firm quote. It only changes from the estimate if the survey needs it — clearly flagged, with the reasoning.
-
Step 5
Installation
F-Gas-certified engineers install, commission and hand over. Most domestic jobs are a day or two on site.
Why McInnes Group
Designed for the room, installed by our own team.
We’re an F-Gas-certified, family-run installer based in Inverness, working across Scotland since 2010. We design air conditioning for the room rather than the spec sheet, our own engineers handle the refrigerant work and the electrics, and there’s one number to call for aftercare. The estimate you’ve just built is the start of a conversation — not a contract.
Good to know
Air conditioning questions, answered honestly.
Does air conditioning heat as well as cool?
Yes — every system on this page is a reverse-cycle heat pump. It cools in summer and heats in winter, and because a heat pump moves heat rather than generating it, it delivers roughly three to four kilowatts of heat for every kilowatt of electricity — far cheaper to run than plug-in electric heaters.
What does it cost to run?
A typical single-room unit draws roughly 0.5–0.8 kW while cooling — around 15–25p an hour at current electricity prices — and the inverter throttles right back once the room reaches temperature. Heating is where it shines: you get three to four times more heat out than the electricity you put in.
How noisy is it?
Quieter than most people expect. On their low settings the Panasonic indoor units run from around 19 dB(A) — quieter than a whisper — so they’re fine in bedrooms. The outdoor unit is designed for suburban gardens, and sensible placement is part of the free survey.
How long does installation take?
Most single-room installs are completed in a day. Multi-room systems typically take one to two days on site. We confirm the schedule with your firm quote.
Do I need planning permission?
Usually not — domestic air conditioning normally falls under permitted development in Scotland. Listed buildings and conservation areas can need consent, which we’ll flag at the survey — and the no-outdoor-unit option shown in your estimate is often the neat answer for those properties.
What warranty do I get?
Your installation is backed by our insurance-backed workmanship warranty and deposit protection through Qualitymark Protection, and the Panasonic equipment carries its manufacturer warranty, which we register for you. We confirm the exact terms with your written quote.
