The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is the UK quality assurance scheme for low-carbon technologies. MCS certification is mandatory for the Home Energy Scotland grant and loan, the Smart Export Guarantee, and the Scottish Government commercial renewable schemes. Our MCS scope covers air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, solar PV, solar thermal, biomass, and battery storage — the ASHP and GSHP scopes both run under registration NAP28878.
What this means for you: It's the grant requirement. Without MCS, your install can't qualify for the Home Energy Scotland grant, SEG, or several Scottish Government commercial schemes.

Government-endorsed quality scheme covering work in or around the home. Our TrustMark registration confirms we meet customer protection, technical and trading standards required for many public-funded retrofit schemes.

The Renewable Energy Consumer Code, approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. RECC sets the standard for how renewable energy installers should treat customers — from quoting to installation to dispute resolution.
What this means for you: Independent backing for the standard of service and a clear escalation route if something goes wrong (the latter being something we take very seriously avoiding in the first place).

The Oil Firing Technical Association registration covers our heating engineers for oil-fired installations and decommissioning — relevant for the many off-gas properties switching from oil to a heat pump.

Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme — pre-qualification for working on commercial and public-sector sites. Our CHAS accreditation is regularly audited.
What this means for you: Required for almost all commercial and public-sector procurement frameworks. If your project has any site-safety requirements, CHAS is the baseline.

Independent training and certification specifically for heat pump installers. Heat Geek certification is about heat-loss-driven design — the gap between heat pump installs that work brilliantly and those that disappoint.
What this means for you: We design every heat pump to its building, not from a template — which is the single biggest factor in whether you'll be happy with the result.

Recognised installer status with Octopus Energy. Important for customers who'll be on Octopus smart tariffs — Cosy, Intelligent Octopus, Octopus Go — particularly for heat pumps and batteries where tariff design materially affects the economics.

NAPIT
NAP28878
NAPIT registration covers electrical compliance (Part P notifiable work in domestic and commercial property), and NAPIT also administers our MCS certification under the same registration. Independent technical and consumer-protection oversight on every install we do.
What this means for you: Means notifiable electrical work is signed off without you needing a separate Building Control submission, and our MCS quality assurance runs through an established scheme administrator.

Gas Safe Register

Gas Safe is the legally required register for anyone working on gas appliances in the UK. Relevant on the renewables side where we decommission an old gas boiler as part of a heat pump install — we issue the gas-disconnection paperwork ourselves rather than coordinating with an outside engineer.
What this means for you: When we replace a gas boiler with a heat pump, the gas isolation and decommissioning is done under our own Gas Safe registration. One install team, one paper trail.
